The scene opens up in the backstage area as Jerika Mason is briskly walking through the hall, her camera man struggling to keep up. Every once in a while, she stops briefly to ask a question to the nearby stage hands that are busy packing up the show and preparing to load it onto the trucks for the next one. Some shrug their shoulders, others simply point in the direction she continues to travel. Finally, she comes to a technical area filled with monitors as she finds the person she is looking for… Damien “Khaos” Carter.
Damien was still dressed in his wrestling attire from the night and appeared to be staring blankly at one of the monitors, seemingly lost deep in thought. Though his team had lost this very night, some might say that he actually won… as he had achieved exactly what he had set out to do this evening, and that was make a name for himself. Jerika made a motion to her camera man, indicating for him to record her, as she carefully approached the unstable and unpredictable superstar.
“Damien?” Jerika cleared her throat. “Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?”
Damien looked over his shoulder at her, saw the cameraman and the interviewer, and turned back to the monitor. As Jerika got closer, she could see he was re-watching the events from earlier in the night. As it was, he seemed to be fixated on the Anya Coyle vs. Cerise match.
“I was wondering if I could get an explanation as to why you turned on your partners, Johnny Stylez and Dorian Rhodes…” Jerika began to ask, before Damien shot her a warning glance.
“Turned on?” Damien asked, confused. “I’m sorry, the way you say that… you make it sound like those two were my friends. In case you haven’t noticed, I don’t have any friends…”
Damien allowed himself a moment to look down at the table, where the Amelia Hearts care-bear look-a-like, which he had forced the creators of build-a-bear to build especially for him, still sat. He brushed it aside and focused back on the monitors.
“Well… except for maybe her,” Damien finished his thought, watching as Cerise picked up the victory over the International Champion.
What followed was the post-match beat down by Anya Coyle that left Cerise beaten, bloodied, and broken. As it was, she had been transported to the nearest hospital for further evaluation but they suspected that she, at the very least, had suffered a concussion and would be out of action for a little bit. Damien pressed a button on a nearby remote, freezing the image of Anya lifting her bloodied left hand into the air.
“I know tonight was not the night for a lot of individuals,” Damien began, his gaze solely on the monitor, his focus purely on the woman who had just injured his friend. “And I’m sure I’ll have hell to pay for my actions against Johnny, Dorian, and Kylie. But what happened tonight was their fault… not mine. The devil is in the details lady and gentlemen, I am The Khaotic One after all… and where I go, Khaos follows. If they wish vengeance upon me, then I welcome the challenge for I’ll be right here, waiting. Until then however, I have a message for our International Champion…”
Damien turned, looking past Jerika and into the camera.
“Tonight… you crossed a line you shouldn’t have crossed,” Damien began, his eyes practically burning with fire. “Tonight… you have committed an egregious sin upon someone that I care about. Tonight… you have done something that you really shouldn’t have done, and that was get my attention. You have it now Anya, which is why on Tuesday, March 16th… at the reveal of the new Revo1 show… I want you one-on-one in a steel cage match. I don’t care if it’s Cecilia Ortiz or Thomas Snow, one of you better make that match possible. Or there will be hell to pay.”
Damien turned away from them, grabbed his fluffy companion, and walked off as the camera man focused on the freeze-frame image of Anya laughing as blood runs down her hands.
