"Rhodes in Champions and Participation."
It’s the emergence of the fastest rising star, Dorian Rhodes. The man that calls himself ‘The Promethean’ is leaving his imprint upon Revolution One Wrestling. He has become the most relevant wrestler since he first stepped foot between those ropes. This past week he ended the era of Morbid Dream; the former World Champion.
Morbid Dream was left behind like a dirty diaper. Now it’s Johnny Stylez and Samantha Voxx; the next babies of competition.
Calling a professional wrestler a natural athlete is a times a backhanded compliment. It’s an insult that says you’re good at running around the ring and performing moves with agility and grace. However, it denies an individual's instincts. The innate ability to mentality exploit an opponents abilities. A true student of the game.

Between that realm of turnbuckles and ropes Dorian Rhodes has been an unbeaten beast in singles competition. His presence alone creates headaches and nightmares for his opponents. He’s living up to the moniker ‘Prince of HorrorCore’; the Champion.
It’s surprising that Dorian Rhodes is currently the face of Revolution One. It’s usually the World Champion grabbing all of the glory. But, in his extraordinary fashion he’s proving that he belongs among the best in this industry.
___________________________________________
Determination and durability will determine his longevity and ultimately his legacy. It’s obvious that ‘The Bad Seed’ is becoming progressively more hated week by week. He’s the white hot superstar that’s the fantasy of women and the envy of men. However, his passion cannot be denied.
More than just possessing an impressive physique, speed, and pure athleticism. ‘The Promethean’ dominates with his stamina, strength, and finesse. The qualities that engrave his name among the best to ever have graced Revolution One. It’ll be debated and attempted to be debunked by LA Johnny Stylez and Samantha Voxx.
The HorrorCore Championship isn’t simply a trophy slung over his shoulder nor a title of past accolades. It’s the symbol that he’s one of the best and some argue ‘THE’ best currently in the sport. It’s something Samantha Voxx has seen up close and personnel as she’s the partner of chance that Dorian Rhodes left laying in the center of the ring. It’s simply another opportunity of leaving another breathtaking imprint for the Champion.
LA Johnny Stylez is a remarkable individual if being basked off of his skills alone. That’s something the ‘Prince of HorrorCore’ won’t deny the newcomer. His ability to perform the tricks of the trade are noteworthy. The question, however, remains. Can LA Johnny keep his eye glued upon the proverbial ball?
Though Samantha Voxx wouldn’t be picked out of a lineup on the street as a premiere athlete. She simply doesn’t look the part. Unlike Stylez she doesn’t portray that picture of being able to portray anything remarkable. That’s potentially her hidden mark upon Revolution One. Playing the perfect picture of victim waiting to strike between that of the squared circle.
It may annoy some people that Dorian Rhodes knows his impressive capabilities when he’s front in center of the Revolution World. He doesn’t posses those questions that are raised when the discussions take place about his upcoming opponents. Written on paper in black and white it’s obvious who’s the definition of the word victorious.
The HorrorCore Champion doesn’t shay away from that fact and in fact he’d be the first to point it out. That cocky presumptuous attitude isn’t an air of ignorance. Lighting strikes and the sun shines on every dog once in awhile. It’s a fight between the Champion and the overlooked underdogs; popularly expected to lose.
Those predictions are an injustice of abstract thought. An uncreative persecution of competition when everybody is capable on any given day of the week. That’s a topic of discussion that Dorian Rhodes brought to the forethought of the viewing public before he even won the Championship. His intentions as he stated were to win and retain the title until he chose otherwise. Regardless of intentions he can’t take his own eye off the ball.
It was January fifth that Samantha Voxx locked in ‘Truth of the Spirit’ on the hellbilly but wasn’t the legal competitor. Ana Coyle made the pin but Samantha Voxx won the match. That’s not something unnoticed by ‘The Promethean’.
It was then January twelfth that Samantha Voxx appeared from beneath the ring in an unanticipated maneuver. It was later that Voxx performed a running senton onto her partner, Dorian Rhodes. It was then that she was in trouble and needing the tag that Rhodes reached out his hand only to pull it away as he then walked away from the match. Victory could have been Samantha’s and she could be competing for her won Championship Gold at New Year’s Daze. Instead she finds herself against the man that he returned the favor with his patented Tiger Driver 91’. Leaving her sprawled out inside the middle of the ring. His Championship still slung over his shoulder.
LA Johnny Stylez in a moment he won’t want revealed reached out to Dorian Rhodes after that match. He expressed his respect and his willingness to team up with Dorian Rhodes. Potentially he’ll deny those accusations but even Dorian wouldn’t deny the willingness of potential team. It’s a mutual respect but LA Johnny must first prove his abilities and capabilities within the squared circle.
It’s the triple threat of questions and potential for all involved. The management booking team got this match right for many reasons. How it turns out come the night of January twenty sixth remains to be seen by competitor, fan, and management. ‘The Promethean’ welcomes the challenge of competing with each given opportunity. He looks to stretch out that unbeaten streak when it comes to relying upon only himself. The variables change week to week and match to match. The man coming out victorious however does not change. He remains.
‘The Promethean’
Origin Story
It’s often times a definitive story of self told by competitors within the realm of this business. We’ve all either seen it or told it ourselves. However, it’s something that I, Dorian Rhodes, have never spoke of and those questions remain. This past week we reviewed that story of Donald Dream, the former Champion, himself. I used that story to verbally pick him a part and then I physically demonstrated that between those ring ropes.
It’s not the ‘Origin’ story that intrigues The Promethean. It’s the completion of legacy that’s the weekly initiative. Where does the road upon which Dorian Rhodes travels eventually lead? I’ll answer that question.
Hall of Fame
Within that paragraph biography when that final day of competition comes; Dorian Rhodes will speak of those Rhodes Map days of significance. It’ll begin with Christmas Chaos, December Fifteenth. The night he became the ‘Prince of HorrorCore’ and strapped title to waist. The next night will be January Nineteenth the night I ended the era of Morbid Dream.
That next fateful night in the early career will be that of New Year’s Daze. The Don of Di$re$pect LA Johnny Stylez and Samantha Voxx vie for the final ring of the bell when they step between the ropes with me, the Champ. Samantha Voxx has crossed the wrong Rhodes already and was left laying center ring. The aftermath of wreckage when she attempted to one up the Champ.
LA Johnny we haven’t met between those ropes but we’ve had some words of respect exchanged behind those curtains that separate the locker room. I’ve watched your early matches and I’ve saw some promise and then you were submitted by Cartier. The girl who couldn’t last at Christmas Chaos and was taken out of the match before I came to the ring. It’s a match I eventually won against Amelia Hearts. Cartier couldn’t even last for second place.
January fourth you stated that you were gonna make sure that EVERY curtain jerker was aware of who you were. That your presence is a threat. That you bring more to the Revolution locker room than SHOCK value. You then… obviously… apparently… failed to check the record logs of promos.
You said the SAME thing I said a month earlier LA Johnny. You talked about being the change that Revolution needed. Check the record books Johnny and then get back to me about that CHANGE you mentioned.
I’m the HorrorCore Champion. I ended the era of Morbid Dream. I left my tag team partner Samantha Voxx laying in the center of the ring.
Your message of change faded when you tapped out to Cartier. The Dorian Rhodes message has continued to maintain, thrive, and become a fruition of dominance week after week. New Year’s Daze. It’s simply another two names marked in the victory column of ‘The Bad Seed’. It’s another victory added to the dominance of Dorian Rhodes undefeated singles career.
LA Johnny.
I’ll listen to your spoken words lightly and I’ll analyze the recorded matches within the Revolution library. I study the weaknesses and the flaws within your matches. I’ll review that footage of you tapping a hundred times. I’ll watch the look contained within your eyes. I’ll watch the look within Cartier’s eyes as she applies the submission. I’ll watch the eyes of those in attendance.
The Promethean is methodical when it comes to this business. It’s recorded fact Johnny just ask my pal Morbid Dream. The yellow masked former champion who faced my Revolution Idol, Madman Szalinski. The man who’s Championship reign will be conquered by Dorian Rhodes.
~Flash Back~
His knees were covered in dirt and grass stains as he sat on the end of the bench. Glancing over towards his coach he saw the sign to head towards the on deck. Standing he grasped the hard wooden bat with the strength not typical of an eleven year old. This moment he was living his boyhood dream. Bottom of the ninth inning bases loaded and his teammate one strike away from two outs.
He walks out of the dugout and replaces the kid who was up to bat. He grips the bat with both hands as he watched number seven, the star athlete of the team. The opposing pitcher glanced towards his coach and back towards his catcher. He nods at the signal and begins his wide up.
SWING.
Strike Three!
The umpires call frustrates the star player. He ducks his head and walks back into the dugout. The coach steps up to a young Dorian Rhodes and looks him in the eyes.
“This is all up to you kid!”
Dorian simply nods as his coach and father pats him on the shoulder. He reaches out his arm and points the bat skywards as his foot digs into the dust. He’s hit two homers in this game already and a double wins the game.
He swings the bat around once and leans onto his back foot. He stares forward meeting the pitchers eyes. Dorian notices a look of fear within the pitcher. He’s given up both homers and now he’s one out from winning the championship.
He wind up begins and as the pitcher releases the ball Dorian Rhodes steps out of the batters box narrowly dodging an errant pitch.
He knew it was intentional and that the pitcher was sending a clear message. He’s not the intimidated kind. Dorian spits and kicks the dust towards the catcher as he winks back towards the pitcher. The count in Dorian’s favor; one ball and zero strikes.
The pitcher steps up again as he looks for the signal from the catcher. Dorian tightens his grip upon the handle of the bat; his knuckles tighten as the ball comes towards him. He swings.
Strike!
It’s a tinge of frustration as he knows he missed by mere millimeters. He glances back towards his dugout as his coach and father motions for him to settle down. He knows after hundreds of hours spent practicing for this singular moment.
He steps up to the plate once again as he swings the bat once. The pitcher again begins his windup and the ball is released.
Strike!
Dorian Rhodes clenches his teeth knowing that he should have swung at the ball but he’s baiting the pitcher. He knows that once he throws a pitch and the count comes to his advantage he throws a fastball to the right side of the plate; low and away.
Looking at his father once again Dorian sees a glint of a smile. He knows that his father is proud of this moment. His son is listening, waiting, and picking his moment. Is the proverbial game in the bag moment.
Bottom of the ninth, two out, two strikes, and the game on the line.
Stepping up to the plate for the final time he understands that this is the moment in which will be talked about for the coming years. Dorian Rhodes bringing home the youth Championship against the best team in the league.
He looks out towards his teammates of all three bases and nods as he begins his swing towards the ball he expected. It’s the perfectly placed pitch in the position that he expected. Every ounce of strength within his young frame heaves the wooden bat towards the pitch.
Strike Out!
The catcher laughs as he begins to stand as he begins the run towards the pitcher. Dorian Rhodes heard every utter of victory from the opposing team. The dugout clears as players and coaches run onto the field. The wooden bat still retained within his grasp; he refuses to lower his head. Chin up.
He steps out of the batters box and as he turns he finds his teammates already leaving the dugout. His coach… father… already packing away the equipment. He’s left on the field of play alone. His mother the only person who comes out onto the field towards him.
However, his father stops her and motions her to not enter the field of play. Dorian Rhodes steps towards the dugout. He lowers the bat and drops it against the fence. His team already receiving their second place trophies. Smiles on many of their faces. Happy with the season despite the sting of defeat.
He stops as one of the league officials begins to hand Dorian his trophy. He reaches out to receive his prize but his father intercepts the trophy and pushes it back towards the official.
“We don’t accept participation trophies.”
“He earned this.”
“He didn’t earn anything. He cost his team the victory.”
Dorian Rhodes stands there in front of everybody. Teammates and their families. Opponents and their families. His own family.
He refuses to show any emotion. He refuses to react to his fathers words. The official looks down at him with a look of sadness upon his face and walks away with the second place trophy.
~Present Day~
Samantha Voxx
Johnny Stylez
I’m not the champion of participation. I’m the HorrorCore Champion of Revolution One because I earned it. I earn everything I’ve gotten in this life.
Any moments of failure have been the fuel that powers me upon my journey of Championships and monumental victories.
I’m sure that after New Year’s Daze you’ll be consoled by family and friends. The idea of being on Pay Per View is intriguing and you participated in one of the biggest nights of twenty twenty one.
That’s all you’ve done. That’s all you get.
Participation.
Chin up.
Come back the next week with some fire and confidence. Come back next week with the idea that you would become more than this failure. Come back with the realization that on this night you’re not the best.
Dorian Rhodes
HorrorCore Champion.
Victory.
This one is in the bag and he won’t be walking out empty handed.
See you soon.
