DEAREST FRIENDS
Years ago I lived on the cold streets of Columbus, Ohio with my nephew Ross Hanson. Times were hard for two kids with little to no means of survival. That’s how we were taken advantage of by a certain producer of less than legal videos. Let's say a man approaches you after three days of not eating. Let’s say he offers you sandwiches if you agree to fight, and fifty dollars a piece if you win your fight.
Pick up a copy of Bum Fights Volume 28 from your local retailer or online seller and skip ahead to exactly thirty five minutes in. You’re likely to see two young kids fighting off a legion of homeless men. One of the kids is a massive blonde and the other, a young woman with red hair like burning embers. It might be hard to make out, but what you’ll be watching is the first recorded images of Ross Hanson and Madwoman, two figures who would go on to make their mark upon sports.
Of course at the time we were just fighting homeless people for week old sandwiches, but we did it with gusto and insanity. You’ll notice something about my younger self. That would be my weapon of choice - a pink sledgehammer. That sledgehammer has stuck with me since then. I picked up that beauty from a construction site and it became one of my dearest friends. I busted kneecaps on Bum Fights Volume 28 with my dear friend, the hammer of the gods itself.
Of course, these days I couldn’t get away with such a thing. Bum Fights are no more and such needless violence would be considered illegal. But those days? It was new territory, and Bum Fights sold very very well. I’ve kept my friend close since that day. It traveled with me from Ohio, to Manchester, and now… to Trinity Wrestling. I think it’s time I bring my friend out and I show the world a thing or two about violence. My dearest friend, Magipara the sledgehammer.
It was you who carried me through my teenage years and kept me safe, along with Ross. It is you who will lead me to vengeance over Graham Clauson. And it is you who will show me the path to victory over Addy A and her smaller, less effective, claw hammer. It has already been written in stone, Madwoman and Magipara are the two figures who will stand atop Ban Moon Rising as something legendary begins.
A path, a legendary path. Today, Chapter Two begins. Chapter Two, the most violent of chapters. This is the chapter where I either rise to greatness and legendary status or I fail and find myself lost to the madness I was born into.
------
Flashback. October 2015
Two young people are seen in a dark alleyway. One, a red haired young girl, has a beaten up old sledgehammer in her hands. The other is a large blonde haired man with a can of pink spray paint in his hands. The girl squeels in glee as the young man sprays the sledge hammer down with said pink spray paint.

“My life has become a whirlwind of pain and despair. Even now the villains gather at my front door, all seeking to take me down. They want the gold I carry and they want to see me break, to see me left with a broken mind and body. I can’t let them accomplish this goal. No, I have to be stronger. I have to become a true hero.”
St.Mary’s church. An historic landmark in Manchester. Today we find ourselves here within the hallowed holy place where many have ventured before in their need for understanding. Paintings depicting the life of Jesus cover the walls, beginning with his birth and ending with his resurrection following the crucifixion. Sitting in the pews with a lit candle is Madwoman, the hero of our story. She appears to be deep in thought. At her feet is a burlap sack.
Madwoman lifts her head and the camera catches her face. Her eyes are filled with determination. The mousy one’s body is covered in a pink and white dress and a matching mask. One might think she is calm, but deep within her chest there is an anger that cannot be properly described. That anger burns like the flames of hell, furious and uncontrollable.
“I’ve never been on for religion. Growing up on the streets I learned to believe in myself more than I believed in a higher power. Even today, I still wouldn’t consider myself a worshiper. Still, this is a place where I can collect my thoughts and formulate my plans. The people who visit this holy temple do not fight me, nor do they let my fame lead them into interrupting my silent contemplation.”
“On SIN Graham Clauson threw my big brother off of the stage and very nearly ended his life. Earlier in the show Addy A won the right to face me again for my Television Championship. My anger towards Graham is obvious. There stands a man I was told would stand by me, a good man. His exploits with my brother are the things of legend and yet what I saw on SIN was not a good man. What I saw was a villain. Graham likes to talk a lot of smack about Addy A, but he’s really no better than her. Both are villains. Both are bad people.”
“I’ve spoken about Addy A’s lifestyle in detail the last time we fought. Here in this holy place speaking such words would be frowned upon, so I shall not. Instead, I want to talk to my fans about what truly makes a hero and what truly makes a villain. You see, a hero stands by themselves against the evils of this world. More often than not a villain thinks only of themselves. We could even go deeper than that, a villain enjoys doing evil and destroying innocence. In this way we can easily link Addy A and Graham Clauson. Both do bad things for their own self interests.”
“On the other hand it is the place of a hero and a champion to end villany. I may not be the biggest hero in Trinity Wrestling, but I’ll go on record as saying I am the most determined. Each week we see Addy A seek to lower depths in her journey towards ultimate evil. It’s only a matter of time before she ends a career with her claw hammer. It’s only a matter of time before she sinks to the same depths Graham Clauson has found himself within.”
Madwoman shakes her head and reaches into the bag at her feet. She continues to speak as she does this.
“I have something stronger than your claw hammer, Addy. It’s something that carries the hopes of every fan that believes in me, every fan that I inspire. And here, in a no rules hardcore match, I have every right and reason to use this weapon. Addy, let me introduce you to…”
The camera zooms in on Madwoman’s hands as she pulls her pink sledgehammer from the bag at her feet. Our heroine pulls the hammer to her face and a wicked smile crosses over her cute, button like features.
“The hammer of God. You think your claw hammer is impressive? This, Addy, is a real hammer. This hammer has followed me through life since I was sixteen years old. It has protected me against rapists and pedophiles. This hammer is one of my best friends and he loves taking villains and showing them the errors of their ways. This weapon never harms those who do not deserve it, so ask yourself this. Do you deserve to take a blow from the hammer of God? Are you a true villain? Judging from what you’ve done to the people in your life, I’d say yes. Yes, you are a villain and yes, you deserve to take a blow that will leave you questioning your own motives.”
“I’ll be honest with you, Addy. I requested this match to be a hardcore match. I knew I needed something special if I were to truly defeat you. You are the monkey on my back, a foe I simply can’t seem to get rid of. More than that, each passing day I see you growing into a bigger threat to those that do good and serve the notions of goodness and righteousness. Maybe that’s why you live your life the way you do, seeking constant pleasure through lust. Perhaps that release is the only thing that takes your mind off of the crimes you’ve committed in the past.”
Madwoman stands to her feet and holds her pink sledgehammer high with her left hand. Her right hand points it’s index finger towards the camera.
“Magipara, the hammer of the Gods! My weapon cares not for what you do to clear your wicked conscience! It cares not for your cries of help, for you yourself ignored those same cries from your various victims! You are a villain and it is up to me, a true hero, to ensure you harm no other living soul! So here, in the sight of Gods and all of his saints, I swear to end your reign of terror and then move on to show Graham Clauson the errors of his ways as well! This is what I am, a hero and a champion!”
“Learn it’s name, Addy! Your lust, greed, and violence will come to an end soon enough! Perhaps you’ll learn your less and go on to live a better life, but something inside of he truly doubts you’ll learn anything. So make no mistake, I’ll be there at every turn to end any evil you bring upon Trinity Wrestling. It is my place as it’s defender, as the longest reigning champion in the history of this great organization. Bad Moon Rising, that will be the day when I rise as a true hero and the entire world sees what a champion truly is.”
“Come at me with your claw hammer, rip at my flesh. Take my blood, but realize that I am powered by something far stronger than lust and anger. I am powered by the hopes and dreams of every good human being in Trinity Wrestling, of every good human being in the audience and at home that watches me. Those same men and women want nothing more than for me to continue being a beacon that lights their paths.”
Madwoman flashes a grin to the camera as she lowers her sledgehammer.
“Superior. I walk a better path than you, Addy. I have no need to lust for multiple lovers, for I have one lover who has led me to train with legends and true warriors. You claim madness and insanity, but I tell you that my madness is more focused. I have made it my strength. I’m a woman who truly believes in her path. Unlike you, I cannot be taken from this path and I will never turn to the side of darkness. No matter what life throws at me, no matter how many bastards or harlots I’m forced to contend with, I will never give up the righteous path!”
“Come to Bad Moon Rising, Addy! Fight a true hero and witness the rise of a legend! Let… Madness… Reign!”
The mousy magical girl stands to her feet. The scene ends on Madwoman holding her sledgehammer, Magipara, high in the air and yelling out a fierce battle cry.
