Months, no, only weeks since Pasha had the TV title slip through his fingers. Power has nothing on those impervious to slow strikes. He knows what must be done to compete in Trinity Wrestling. Giants always fall in the end. Loyal Bohdan left him to many devices this day, where Pasha can see the world from mountain hideout. Here, beneath the snow of an undisclosed location, he trained and recovered. Embarrassed, yes. Saddened, yes. Where else can he turn but to those whom love his strength. Where Bohdan arranged breakfast suitable to Pasha’s metabolism: 40 egg omelet, one pound ham and one pound of sausage links. An apple to polish off his hunger with a sweet treat.
Next comes a regimen Loyal Bohdan provided for Pasha. He welcome kindness, but more, he must learn to become a better wrestler. Bears dominate in his grapples, yet they never fight like real people. Under those lights, Pasha learned too many times that a winner must be more than powerful. Otherwise, he will fail the people, his Kind Cossacks and most of all, his friend Thomas Snow with great endowment. Snow loves Pasha. Pasha love him back. He cannot let his young friend down—not anymore!
Bohdan: Pasha, have you rested today? It has been five hours since you started the elliptical.
Pasha: He tried many times, but his leg still feels stiff.
Bohdan: I have the muscle roller… if you’d like.
Pasha: Ah, абсолютно!
Bohdan: Absolutely, eh? Sounds a little too enthusiastic.
Pasha owns his workouts. All things bring him back to the lovely sound of crunching joints. Powering through pain is part of the sport! He embrace the pain! He hug Bohdan who squeeze free. Pasha hug him again! Bohdan beg so he let loyal friend go. Having muscles turned into taffy—it brings the good pain of a steaming workout. Afterwards, he and this kind bard share sauna behind Pasha’s cabin. Bonding in heat, Pasha wonder if this tag match will mean sharing this boiling room with Thomas. Pasha would love to share his cabin and steaming rock showers with Snow and his grand manhood.
Bohdan may be half bear from his bearded chest. Pasha must shave much his coat for the sake of wrestling. People tell him they no enjoy grabbing clumps of his deep, dark pectoral curls. Pasha would rather be a bear himself than conform to others; sadly, competition means sharing an equal space. No one is above the ring. No one can deceive it. Only those with the heart and skill deserve to conquer it.
Perhaps, this meeting with Thomas Snow will be the chance Pasha needs. For he never understood more than where he must fight his matches. Wrestling is a team sport with a winner. If one side cannot agree to give concessions for a fair fight—then why sell his soul to a promotion? Because Pasha, like so many others, must wrestle to feel whole. What young Thomas Snow is only now discovering in himself.
That did not go as planned. Pasha and Bohdan—under the impression that Thomas Snow would train under his regimen—expected access to Thomas. His father was not helpful. In fact, he was very rude to Pasha because of a week one loss to his son. He said horrible things about Bohdan too.
Pasha: What is “degenerate” ?
Bohdan: неприкасаемый… an untouchable, my brother. Mr. Snow believes that we’re detrimental to his son’s success. Yet he also believes we’re a bad influence on him.
Pasha: Pasha is his Snow’s friend.
Bohdan: That might true, but Thomas’s father will not let that happen so long as he lives.
Now Pasha would never contemplate murder, even if loyal Bohdan allowed him to do so. Mr. Snow is a good man, and Pasha would hug him, had he not threatened to call security. Unlike Pasha, they have guards and barricades to keep people outside the gym. Pasha may have overstepped.
Although, he wastes more time fighting this man of strong principles than he does with Thomas. A stray text or kitty picture won’t do for a victory. And Pasha is starving to win again.
His week will not be any easier than weeks past. He will need more than 100% from yong Thomas if they are to defeat Clauson and the Mad Woman Szalinski. People that have either bested Pasha, or worse, defeated those that embarrassed him weeks ago. Trinity Wrestling is still too young to forget deep, painful wounds from Big Time. It was to showcase Pasha’s talent in a match of rising stars. Instead, he fell hard and almost lost his career in doing so. Today he stops walking invincible and becomes such.
Pasha had a chance to see the strength of Graham Clauson at Big Time. He preformed worthy of a title, but even he could overcome the tides. Many left that ladder match in pieces. Pasha more so than his foes. Except it was the combined effort of men like Clauson that took Pasha to the floor and injured his quads. Graham also came to his aid against the meanest man in Duncan Aries. The exchange was fair, but this time, pleasant words must go wayside. As must Pasha’s heart—for Snow and his father!
Like him, the dominant force of Trinity Wrestling will be there to stop them both. She could. Pasha has watched the Mad Woman press her will upon this company. He bows to her greatness, and reserves a hug should she accept or require one. Consent is not optional! That much Pasha will take to his large, blossoming grave. He wants tulips and white lilies—anything to keep loyal Bohdan from grieving such an irreplaceable loss. Today, however, Pasha will meet the challenge of the mightiest Szalinski.
Today, it seems, people must know what sells the most seats. Everyone throws around numbers and how they put more people in chairs than someone else. Pasha will be himself. Fans love him more than chocolate candy. How else can Pasha portray himself than by fulfilling their needs for a distraction? Forget what roster says about selling Hulu subscriptions. Pasha will earn the fans’ respect the right way, or else, he will die loving every moment running ropes and that canvas. They will see love. It will touch their hearts, and from his kindness, Pasha will stretch his arms a hug the world.
Thomas snow already knows that. Together, they will be too cool to crack under pressure. Too cool to be one man and his favorite young student. Together they will train and compete for the attention of millions. It will be glorious for young Snow… if only Pasha can hold his end of that bargain. The last step is a name…
Bohdan: You’re both men of ice and cold—why not Subzero?
Pasha could kiss that man if he did not say “not now, Pasha.” Such brilliance under his short, graying beard—how has he never found a lover. For Pasha dreams of the day they will share, if he, of course, says yes. Consent is cornerstone of every relationship. What will only get better as he teaches Snow what the boy’s father refuses to teach him. Oh Bohdan, how much farther can we go?
Wherever his road ends, and his loyal bard must go somewhere else, Pasha knows it will be his own doing. Nothing will stop Pasha from loving the world and everyone inside it. What the Mad Woman and Clauson will try to break for the sake of a victory. Snow cannot see his idol fall again. Not when he need Pasha to be what his father cannot be—his new, better daddy! Pasha will bring you victory! Old matches ended months ago. Today, Pasha will make everyone proud again!
