Bio:
Tommy Strychnine was born Thomas Tyler Steele in Baton Rogue, LA. From a young age, he wanted to be the center of attention and would do all sorts of wacky stuff to get people to pay attention to him. Whether it was elaborate pranks at school or videos of embarrassing things on Youtube, Tommy was desperate to be a star. When he was 13 years old he discovered glam metal and from that moment Tommy Strychnine was born. At around the same time, Tommy discovered a powerful singing voice that, coupled with his natural showmanship, brought him to the attention of a number of record producers. After finishing his GED at 16, Tommy joined Lazer Phyzycyst as the vocalist. For the next decade, Tommy enjoyed success and worldwide acclaim, until a disagreement with the band's frontman Nikk Pryzym left Tommy ejected from the band. Tommy did some short stints with other bands, ultimately leaving him unfulfilled.
He found his way into wrestling entirely by mistake. At a bar show for a local metal band in New Orleans, in the midst of a bender of legendary proportions, Tommy mistook a wrestling event for a mosh pit. Intending to work out some frustrations, the former rockstar put on an impressive showing, ultimately being declared the winner of a battle royale, before they found out he wasn't a wrestler and was, in fact, just very drunk and halfway decent in a fight. With the offer of a steady income, Tommy agreed to a contract and joined a wrestling school. After training for approximately a year, Tommy took the stage as a wrestler for real. It was a natural fit, and Tommy's stock rose astronomically. Soon enough he was headlining sold-out shows all over the world again. His goofy charm, natural showmanship, and surprising ability made him a natural fit, and even though the ghost of his music career still follows him around, Tommy has embraced the world of Pro Wrestling as his home.
Attire:
Tommy Strychnine dresses like a reject from a hair metal band, straight out of the eighties. Big hair, headbands, mesh shirts, fishnets, scarves, nothing is out of the question when Tommy Strychnine takes the stage. He is almost never seen without a guitar, even though there is nobody in creation who knows if he can actually play. Wiry, couple of tattoos including a full back piece that's supposed to wither be his own face or that of Vince Neal from Motley Crue. Even Tommy can't answer that question.
Theme song:
Stagefright by Def Leppard
Pic Base:
Satchel from Steel Panther
Entrance:
The lights go down and the sound of people cheering starts to play. Spotlights come up in pairs, focused on the stage until Stagefright starts to play, but Tommy Strychnine is nowhere to be seen. (At this point, it would vary from entrance to entrance. He'll come out of somewhere random, out from under the ring, falling out of an equipment case, etc.) When he gets to the ring, he poses with his guitar, pretending to play along with the song, before handing off the guitar to the ring crew and doing a flip off the turnbuckle into a powerslide.
Favorite moves:
