Talia Skye stands outside a bingo hall esque building in San Diego, California holding a ticket to the imminent wrestling show inside. It's the third one she's gone to since her "separation" with J.T. and she hopes that third really is the charm. While some women may have sat and pouted and wept over a failing marriage Talia refuses to let herself be phased or psyched out. If J.T. wants to walk away from her that's fine. She can just find a new boy toy. Hopefully one that knows where his place is and doesn't step out of line.
She adjusts the black wig on her head before approaching the door person. Upon presenting her ticket she walks into the venue doing her best to avoid the fans there. In part due to her fear of being recognized, in part due to her just general disgust for most of the male wrestling fans. When she eventually finds her seat after grabbing a program of the match card she makes sure she is as close to the action as can be. If she's looking for her new play thing she wants to make sure she has a front row view.
A skinny geeky looking kid comes out with a microphone in hand, apparently the announcer. He announces the first match a singles womens match. Talia watches out of her overall interest in women's wrestling, but without the scrutiny she plans to give for the male talent tonight. The face eventually goes over with a diving elbow before celebrating to a huge ovation from the crowd... and a polite golf clap from Talia.
Following the opener is a men's tag team match. As Talia waits eagerly to see her first round of options she becomes immediately disappointed. The first two men who walk out look like middle aged dad's cosplaying as a church congregation. She maintains some hope for the second team only to find that they too are just as gross and disappointing. One half of the team looks like a retired biker who found his BDSM phase and the other half looks like a steretype of a stoner rocker from an 80s hairband. Talia switches her focus from the ring instead choosing to scroll through her Twitter and Insta feeds.
When the match ends with the strange overweight preachers winning, Talia assumes by some sort of cheating, the ring clears for the next match. The first guy out seems to be some sort of obnoxious gay stereotype comedy wrestler. Wow. Inventive. His opponent however is a 6ft plus tower of a man with long flowing hair. Her interest is piqued at first only until she sees the giant wrestle. He's green. No charisma in the ring. Another disappointment.
She tunes out the rest of the match and barely even notices it end with the giant standing victorious. The ring clears once more only to fill up for a battle royal mostly featuring the talents already seen throughout the night. Again Talia sits disinterested through the bout. As it ends and the geek from earlier comes out to stumble his way through some raffle ticket draws finally the main event draws near. Her last hope. First some generic indy wrestler face walks out in the most atrocious bright green ring attire she's ever seen accompanied by a similarly dressed loser who Talia presumes to be his tag team partner. At this point Talia begins to collect herself prepared to give up on her search for the day.
As she grabs her coat she hears the "heel" announced. Grayson Sterling. The Silver Bullet. She pauses. The name sounds promising. The opening notes of "Something For You" by David Rolfe plays and the crowd immediately begins to boo. Talia turns in time to see Grayson walk out. The young twenty something wrestler sports short brown hair and neatly trimmed facial hair. He has on a cropped top and matched cropped leather jacket showing off a set of perfect abs. He turns around to show off his tight brief style trunks perfectly excentuating an even tighter ass.
Talia begins to set her stuff back down and stares at Sterling with great interest. He walks to the ring with a confident swagger and upon looking towards Talia stops and winks at her earning a smirk from the undercover legend. Once he gets in the ring he begans to preen around like the proudest peacock. When the bell finally rings Sterling shows that he's far more than a pretty face. Wrestling circles around his opponent Grayson gets a number of near falls. Near the end of the match Grayson manages to hit a low blow while the ref's distracted before getting a roll up victory.
The crowd is furious as Grayson stands up and gloats to apparently only Talia's approval. However his celebration doesn't last long. The fallen face manages to get to his feet despite his tender crown jewels and begins confronting Grayson for cheating. He backs up into his defeated opponent's partner and the two begin to rain shots in on Sterling. Talia realizes this is her moment. She can save this guy's ass and maybe if he's smart enough.. she can own it too.
Talia runs into the ring drawing the attention of the face team. They move towards her to get her out of the ring, but Talia runs forward slamming her knee into the face of the already battered loser from the main event. The guy drops like a sacke of rocks and the crowd as well as the event staff, the tag partner, and even Sterling are stunned. Talia sheds her jacket and pulls off her wig revealing herself to the crowd who begin to lose their minds. Grayson meanwhile begins smiling as wide as a Chesire cat. He hits a superkick to the back of the head of the now distracted tag team partner who then stumbles directly into Talia's grasp. She hits one of her most classic moves, the double arm snap DDT known as the Drop Dead Gorgeous (DDG). Talia then points to Grayson and signals for him to go to the top rope. He nods enthusiastically and follows her order flying off the top with a picture perfect elbow drop. The two stand tall in the ring basking in the boos of the crowd. During this time Talia pulls Grayson close enough to quietly talk.
Talia: You're good. And you're cute as hell. I've been looking for a strong, talented, and sexy young man to help me with my ..... needs. If you think you can handle the job... let me know.
She hands him a business card before walking away leaving Grayson along in the ring with an ear to ear grin on his face. She avoids the swarm of fans asking for autographs and gets into her car. Before she can even put it in drive her phone vibrates. She slides the notification down. It's Grayson.
Talia: Hmm. He's eager. Cute. He can wait for a response though.
--------------------------------------------------
Talia Skye sits atop her desk. Beside her is a stack of files on Vespertine, Johnny Stylez, and Xavier Coldwater. She holds a large photo in her hands. She turns it to face the camera revealing a headshot of "The Silver Bullet" Grayson Sterling.
Talia: Gorgeous isn't he? I think I might keep him. He intrigues me. In a way that so few do nowadays. He interests me more than any of you fans. He interests me more than Chelsea Skye did. He interests me more than any of my opponents at Allegiance. Though all of those are relatively low bars to surpass. In fairness that seems to be the theme of Revolution 1 though. Low bars to pass. Look at how easily I embarassed Chelsea Skye. I rolled her up. I didn't even need to hit a Fourth Seal. No Farewell to Arms. I ROLLED her UP. The International Champion lost clean to a surprise roll up. So incredibly embarassing. But I plan on raising the bars while I'm here. Making it so there's REAL competition.
Talia looks down at the camera with a greater than thou look on her face.
Talia: When I win the International Championship in the battle of the Skyes I'll take that championship to the bar it truly deserves. But first I have to go wage some war apparently. It seems management made a decision that makes sense: featuring Talia Skye. I gave them no option, but me to lead a team against Vespertine and they listened. Smart. Now I wish I got to select my team. Because of course... I get stuck with ... some underwhelming back up. Can someone please tell me why the hell we are still giving Jalen Prince any matches? Why? What does he do successfully? What value does her bring to this company? Does anyone truly think his ... four or five sentences of dialog really have any impact or importance? Because he doesn't. He's a waste of time. He's a waste of space. He's a waste. Of. Life.
She emphasizes her last words with anger.
Talia: Thank goodness though I have a partner who is... CERTAINLY much better. And I definitely am not just saying that because she writes my checks. No. Definitely not. I mean don't we all know Kylie Moore to still be an incredible talent? No? We don't? Hmm. Well I guess just like at Christmas Chaos I'll pretty much be having to handle this all by myself. I'm used to it. But thankfully this time there's no Vespertine to try and take all the credit after I do all the work. I will get the recognition I deserve. About fucking time. And I promise you Ves... I will be walking away with my head held high and my arm raised in victory. I mean how could I not... look at your pathetic excuse of a team. They make my partners look like the Justice League.
Talia scoffs at how badly assembled Team Ves is.
Talia: Who the hell is Johnny Stylez? I hired research firms. I searched wrestling reddits. I looked up Revolution match results. All I could find on this guy is that he seems to be the resident jobber the company brings in when they run out of mediocre ACTIVE talent. He's like the dark horse surprise... if that dark horse was missing several limbs and talent.. and a brain. Sure he attacked Jalen. That's not really threatening though. I mean... everyone beats up Jalen. He's the obvious weak point on any team and any roster. I'm actually considering breaking one of his legs before the show so he can't show up and lose the match for my team. But if beating up Jalen Prince is your major accomplishment.... that doesn't bode well for you Johnny. I think you'll find now that I'm here the trends of washed up, talentless hacks taking up air time is way out of Stylez.
Skye smirks clearly amused at her pun. She knocks the miniscule file on Stylez to the ground to instead grab the one on Coldwater.
Talia: Then there's Xavier Coldwater who ... I'm going to be honest I didn't even realize he still worked for the company. I thought for a moment that he had taken my advice and was beginning to study for the role of Mr. Freeze on the minute chance they might one day remake Batman and Robin. Maybe he had realized that cold puns were only really useful at the local Dad Joke contests. But no apparently he's still here. I mean that is assuming he actually shows up to help Vespertine. He could very well decide that after his last time standing across from me that he wants absolutely NOTHING to do with the Final Boss of Revolution One. I was a rude awakening for him. A cold shower if you will.
Talia mockingly laughs at her Coldwater esque line before switching back to her cold and condescending tone and expression.
Talia: And then there's the grand high bitch herself: Vespertine. She's like the... Donald Trump of Revolution One. She's completely delusional, absolutely unqualified to lead ANYONE, and not even the brightest minds on this planet can find any logic in any of her drunken rambles she calls promos. I don't know if Vespertine has taken the time to trash me yet. But I can almost guarantee that what ever she says about me will be underwhelming, nonsensical, and possibly include some line about how I was a terrible partner despite doing all the heavy lifting on Team Sin.
She huffs with frustration trying to keep her composure despite clear frustration.
Talia: I need you to know. I tried to listen through your old promos. They were a challenge. Honestly trying to will myself through your promos felt like severe self mutilation. It was like I was punishing myself for some bad deed. You make Jason Ryan sound like a genius. That might be your greatest accomplishment to be honest. But when I did eventually make it through the marathon of torture I realized that well... you're the exact kind of woman I feared would represent this company. Unintelligent. DIspassionate. Desperatly clinging on to your clip show of few and far between successes. Pathetic.
Talia's face sours as she tears into Vespertine.
Talia:You think you won matches because of hard work and perserverance. I'd say dumb luck. But I mean there's more sides to you than just being stupid. You conveniently listed them off to us and name dropped your own past promos as proof of each side. Jesus Christ. I've seen deluded idiots before, but you take the cake Vespertine. You have your sexy side, your flip side.... whatever the fuck that means, your philisophical side... I'm surprised you knew how to say that word, and your DARK side. Oooooh. Very scary Ves. Do you even know what it means to have a dark side Vespertine? I'm not talking about having a few clothes from Hot Topic. I mean a REAL dark side. You think because you had a cage match or a cell match that you're some dark and hardcore femme fatale? You sweet summer child. A dark side doesn't mean you talk a mean game and then have a couple of extreme matches. That's... just called being a wrestler. No Ves having a dark side means being willing to WHATEVER it takes no matter the moral implications. It means dropping your husband the second her becomes a problem. It means having no remorse after you paralyze a woman from the neck down for daring to try and stand against you in the ring. You don't have a dark side Vespertine. No matter how many coloured pills you take to convince yourself otherwise. But me? I have a so called dark side. And you'll find out just how vicious it is.
With determination in her eyes Talia stares straight at the camera cracking the knuckles on her fists.
Talia: See Ves when you step into War Games I'll be honest with you.. Kylie... Jalen.. they don't matter. They aren't worth worrying about. I however am a different story. I'm a veteran in general. In War Games though.. I'm a legend. I've lead MANY a team into War Games in my old company. And more often then not we've been the last women standing.
