Talia Skye sits at her office desk perusing through a series of YouTube videos showing clips of the Lesser Skye: International Champion Chelsea Skye. As she does her husband J.T. Banks walks in with a file folder in hand. He sets it down and takes a seat across from his wife. Talia turns her attention to the folder and scans through the few papers inside.
Talia: That's it? I told you to get me everything on this Chelsea bitch. That means everything.
J.T. furrows a brow at his wife's attitude, but decides to let it go for the moment.
J.T.: Babe. That is everything. Chelsea's really new. I don't think more than two years in the business.
Talia: Another green rookie. So little to work off of. So little to research. And yet I found more about this broad from a YouTube search than you did all morning!? Seriously?
J.T.'s jaw drops as Talia begins to reprimand him.
J.T.: Talia I love you, but let me be damn clear. I'm here to help you, but I'm not your bitch and I'm not your slave.
Talia looks up from the pitiful file on Chelsea and when she does there is both fire and yet a chilling ice in her eyes.
Talia: Excuse me? Do you want to try that again?
J.T.: Sure! Since you returned to the biz you've changed. I'm all about you being vicious to your opponents, but you've been taking your attitude and frustrations out on me and I'm not about that at all.
Talia: Well MAYBE I wouldn't be frustrated with you if you actually provided me some real help. MAYBE I wouldn't be frustrated if I didn't have to do everything myself.
Talia is seething as she stares directly in J.T.'s eyes. J.T.'s face falls in hurt and he stands up.
Talia: And where the fuck are you going now?
J.T.: I think we need a break Talia. You've changed. And until I get the old you back... I think we need time apart.
Skye is shocked at first, but refuses to let it show. Her face holds tight in a sneer as she spits venom with her words.
Skye: Then I suggest you get out of my house.
J.T. walks away dejected. He stops to look back at his wife for a moment, but upon seeing the rage on her face he holds firm in his decision and walks out.
------------------------------------
When the feed flicks on for Talia's promo to start she is not in her usual throne room. No regal decorations nor a throne to sit upon. She is instead sitting at her more figurative throne: the desk chair in her office. Stress is clearly painted across her face as she finishes an espresso and pushes a small pile of papers aside.
Talia: Revolution One. I think I made my point very clear last Sin did I not? I will not be ignored and passed over in this company anymore. No longer am I going to sit by while wastes of space like Sara Cross and Jalen Prince get opportunities. I'm not going to wait around for Kylie and Cecilia to notice me. I'm taking focus for myself. I'm making opportunities for myself. I wiped out the fill ins last show. I've made myself captain of War Games as it should have been FROM. THE. START.
Talia punctuates those last three words by slamming her palm against the desk.
Talia: But I'm here to change the narrative. I made my own opportunity for War Games and now I'm about to make another opportunity for myself. On Sin I find myself in a battle of Skye versus Skye. Talia versus Chelsea. Legend versus rookie. Potential challenger versus unlikely champion. It's a story that writes itself. A tale as old as time if you will. And I bet there's some cute advertisements for it too. "Skye versus Skye: There Can Only Be One!" I'm not here for cute though. I'm here for results. The advertisements and cute slogans just don't matter. But realistically Chelsea... neither do you.
A sour look spreads across Talia's face taking over for the frustration from earlier.
Talia: You're the talent the everyone forgot about. Hell half this roster probably forgets your even a champion. I mean everyone remembers Jessie Lee has a title... mostly because she never shuts the hell up, but also because now it's the only trace of relevancy for her and Jin Min-jun to latch onto. Everyone remembers that Maggie Lockheart is a champion mostly because we're all still in disbelief she actually won that match. Like questionable really. But you Chelsea... you're kind of lost in the herd aren't you? The third tier, third rate, third favourite... the list goes on. You've brought what could be a prestigious championship into obscurity. You should be ashamed.
She shakes her head in disappointment at her competitor.
Talia: But when that championship ends up around the illustrious waist of the Greater Skye well finally there will be an International Champion to be proud of. And I won't be the kind of champion who waits for Jason Ryan to make a new gimmick to come challenge me with. I'll demand real challenge. I'll demand change. And we need some change here. In my life. In Revo. In this industry. We need to get rid of embarassing rookies like you. Dump your ass on the curb. Just like Ross Hanson did.
There's a snide smirk on Talia's face after her low blow dig.
Talia: Ross realized he was saddled with a loser didn't he? Sometimes you realize the ones you love are holding you back. Sometimes you have to cut the dead weight loose. You really thought love would endure didn't you? Endurance isn't your strong suit though. You couldn't endure long enough to even make it to the final four in the Remembrance match. Couldn't endure the storm that was your disintigrating relationship. And as cliched as this might sound you won't endure me either.
Skye raises her head high in confidence.
Talia: Look at what I've done in my short time here Chelsea. I've proven myself to be the game changer this federation needs. Everyone who has tried to step up to me or step in my way has fallen. Brandon has disappeared. All of the Legacy team has dropped off the face of the planet. I wiped out a quarter of the potential War Games captains. I've left a trail of disposable and interchangeable space fillers in my wake. Just as I promised I would do when I signed the contract for Revo. And now you're going to be added to my list.
Her tone takes a grim and serious demeanor.
Talia: But I know Chelsea. You're going to overcome me with your special combo of speed, high flying moves, and technical abilities right? I know you think this. You say it literally every single week. You'll run circles around me, flip over me, beat me with technique. What you don't seem to consider though is how important experience is in this business. You've been wrestling for a cup of coffee. I've been doing this for decades. I've faced high flyers. I've faced the speediest men and women in the business. I've faced experts in technique. I know what to expect. I know what weaknesses to look for in your game. I have some of the toughest strikes in Revo. I need ONE opportunity.. that ONE perfect moment to plant my knee directly into your skull. I have incredible technical abilities. I can and will outwrestle you. And then I'll rip your arm out of your socket. You have ONE opportunity to catch me off guard. You run and jump around me. And that's the thing I'm prepared for. I'm too prepared for you. I'm too experienced. I'm too damn good.
Talia sits back in her chair as if to signal she's unbothered by Chelsea.
Talia: You like to use a cute little catch phrase that you heard from a friend who heard it from me. But keep in mind that in Revolution One... in this entire business... TALIA Skye is the Limit.
Talia: That's it? I told you to get me everything on this Chelsea bitch. That means everything.
