Chelsea’s team would win the tag team match but it wasn’t long before Chelsea found herself in non-title action again, this time she was facing another female wrestler with the last name “Skye” by the name of Talia who was from California and had recently made her Rev1 debut, can Chelsea keep the win streak going?

Well, this is going to get confusing!
I’ve been using the Chelsea Skye name since my first ever match for a simple reason, it’s my birthname and it sounds like it could pass for a wrestler’s name, doesn’t it? The only time I considered using a different name was during my brief foray into porn but that wouldn’t have mattered much because I’m pretty sure that my sisters would’ve found that out eventually, with or without the assumed name.
What’s my point? I was under the impression that I was the only “Skye” in wrestling, but low and behold Rev1 just signed a new female wrestler called Talia Skye! She even used my finisher name as the title of her promo.
And no, she isn’t from Chicago she’s from Canada but I guess Rev1 couldn’t pass on the opportunity to put me in a non-title bout against my namesake, huh?
“I don’t know what to tell you Chelsea.” Chloe, the youngest of my older sisters, said with a sigh as we chatted via Facetime. “Me, Toni and Liz checked the family records, we don’t have any relatives in California, much less anyone by the name of Talia!”
”Well, that at least eliminates the possibility of some distant Californian cousin trying to cash in on my success.” I responded with a shrug whilst Sarah watched some classic Simpsons episodes on Disney+. ”I was having my doubts about that possibility anyway, from what I read this “Talia” is a wrestling veteran who has been wrestling for a lot longer than me! And I know that given my inexperience that that isn’t saying much!”
“Yeah, no kidding, you only just entered your second full year as a wrestler.” Chloe commented with a nod as I joined my girlfriend on the sofa. “Well, if this vet underestimates you, she’ll be in for a shock!”
”Tell me about it! I may be a rookie, but this rookie won the International Championship for a fucking reason!” I responded with a grin before glancing over at my title on the nightstand. ”And if she does beat me, I might have my first challenger.”
”A decision that’s ultimately up to the bosses, though given that this is the last Rev1 show before Allegiance I wouldn’t be surprised if they are looking for Chelsea’s first challenger.” Sarah chimed in and I nodded in agreement with my girlfriend before showing her to Chloe. ”Chelsea’s been training hard in between working on Krawling Khaos’s second album, she’ll be read for whoever it is.”
“Like that was ever in doubt! I’d better get going, I’ve got to get dinner on but we should definitely chat more often.” Chloe responded as she looked at the time and we nodded in agreement whilst I noticed what Sarah was watching, namely “Itchy and Scratchy Land”. “Good luck against this Talia person in any case Chelsea!”
”Thanks, I’ll need it I think!” I responded with a grin before waving goodbye to Chloe as she hung up. I set my phone aside and gave Sarah a quick kiss on the lips. ”Already made your way through the Book of Bobba Fett?”
”More like “watched the first episode and went down the Disney+ Rabbit Hole.”!” Sarah responded with a shrug before she returned the kiss. ”And I’m getting impatient waiting for the next episodes of the Legend of Vox Mahima.”
”At least Prime Video isn’t making us wait a week for a single new episode, anyway how about we put a Disney Classic on?” I suggested and Sarah nodded in agreement before we went through our choices and eventually settled on Beauty and the Beast, the original that is.
Why? I don’t know? It’s a damn good movie!

There can only be one!
”I have several thoughts going through my head as I head into a match that may as well be subtitled “Clash of the Skyes”, namely how I haven’t met Talia Skye before she made her Rev1 debut and whether or not she’s going to try to claim ownership of my birthname or something! But here’s what I do know, I’m the International Champion and I got to keep looking strong because otherwise? Well, potential challengers might look at me and think “easy title win”!”
Boy will they be in for a shock!
”I mean, come on! Am I really that easy? Don’t answer that! But despite the fact that we share the same last name Talia, there are a few other differences, you’re a veteran, I’m a rookie in her third year as a wrestler, you use a Strong Style/Lucha Libre style whilst I use a High Flying Technical style which has served me well on my wrestling journey to date, sorry to say Talia but this match won’t be any different.”
At all.
”Besides that, Allegiance is right around the corner and I know the Rev1 bosses will be eager to book me in my first title defence, in other words I can’t afford to lose against you Talia because the last thing I need is for people to perceive me as a weak champion! And if that involves me beating up some chick from California with the same last name as me? Then I guess I’ll have to do just that!”
It's that simple.
”To be honest with you Talia I didn’t really think much of the news that someone with the same last name as me had signed up to Rev1, I mean Skye isn’t exactly a common first or last name but it’s still a name that parents call their kids! But when this match was booked I couldn’t overlook it and I had to admit that there was some part of me that wanted to see who was the dominant Skye in wrestling!”
And with that I decided to wrap things up.
”Spoiler Alert: you’re looking at her Talia! This match is just another test to see if I can handle the responsibilities of being a champion as far as I’m concerned Talia and beating a wrestling veteran who shares the same last name as “The Nightmare Angel” Chelsea Skye suites her just fine and I will show you why the Skyes the Limit once that bell rings! Well, the Skye will be the limit for me at least, you? You’ll be grounded as I soar higher than ever before!”
I started my guitar practice as the scene fades.
