“Merry Christmas, Daddy!” Serena declared.
“Merry Christmas, sweetie!” Austin, Serena’s father, repeated.
Due to the Christmas Chaos event being pushed back, Serena was unable to be home for the holidays. As such, she was forced to resort to spending Christmas with her family via Zoom.
“We wish you could be here,” Austin stated.
“Me too,” Serena nodded. “Did you get the gifts I sent?”
“Of course we did,” Autry, Serena’s mother, chimed in. “You really shouldn’t have spent so much money!”
“Spoils of my first victory,” Serena harped.
“We saw,” Austin announced. “We’re all so proud of you, honey!”
“Yeah, sis!” Benjamin, Serena’s younger brother, interrupted. “Even though you cheated!”
“Benji!” Austin scolded.
“I didn’t cheat!” Serena defended. “I never saw Danielle’s foot on the ropes, nor did the referee.”
“It’s okay, darling,” Autry comforted. “A win is a win, right?”
“Yeah…” Serena shrugged.
“Hey!” Oliver, Serena’s older brother, interjected. “Can you get me Amber’s autograph?”
“Oli!” Austin reprimanded.
“What!?” Oliver responded. “She’s hot!”
“Yeah she is!” Benjamin joined in.
The two brothers high-fived as Serena’s father rolled up a newspaper and began swatting the boys with it.
“You know I’m facing her at Christmas Chaos, right?” Serena asked. “I don’t really see her being in the autographing type of mood…”
“Your brothers are just being dimwitted,” Autry reasoned. “Don’t you pay any mind to them.”
“Did you get the gift we sent you, sweetie?” Austin asked.
“No…?” Serena responded.
“Check your e-mail!” Autry cheered.
Serena clicked on her phone, pulling up her G-Mail account. She found the e-mail from her parents, opening it to reveal a flight registry.
“I don’t get it,” Serena said. “I’m already in Toronto…”
“It’s not for you!” Oliver laughed.
“Yeah,” Benjamin chimed in. “It’s for us!”
“Wait, what!?” Serena screamed. “Really!? You guys are coming!?”
“No one should be alone by themselves for the holidays,” Autry reasoned.
“Exactly,” Austin agreed. “Besides, we know this is a big night for you so we want to be there to support our little girl!”
“This is so amazing!” Serena cheered. “Thank you; thank you all so much!”
“We’ll see you in a few days!” Autry blew kisses.
The family all gave her a virtual hug over the phone before wrapping up their conversation.

Serena excitedly bounced up and down in the ring before running off the ropes, testing their strength. She couldn’t tell if it was the adrenaline or how the crew had set the stage, but they seemed tighter than normal.
“I see you’re getting yourself ready,” Cassandra remarked.
Serena looked outside the ring to see one half of the Legacy GMs standing there, watching here. She smiled at her old family friend as she slid out of the ring and gave her a sweaty hug.
“Sorry,” Serena apologized. “Just nice to see a friendly face.”
“Your parents aren’t here yet?” Cassandra looked around.
“They get in later tonight,” Serena exclaimed. “Wait, how did you…?”
“You didn’t really think I would let them miss this, did you?” Cassandra smiled. “I’m just glad they let me spoil them this once – they’re usually so stubborn when it comes to the financial pieces of our relationship.”
“I really appreciate it,” Serena practically cried.
“Enough about that,” Cassandra admonished. “Are you ready for your match?”
“Seems like I’ve been spinning around Amber Payne ever since I got here,” Serena acknowledged. “I feel like I can beat her, but in a Submission Match…”
“She is a rather skilled submission-ist,” Cassandra agreed. “You need to study up on her ‘Soul Eater’ and ‘Rings of Payne’ moves.”
“Believe me, I’m familiar,” Serena remarked.
Serena rubbed her shoulder, brutally reminded of her initial conflict with Amber back in October.
“I can teach you my ‘Super Nova’ submission, if you like,” Cassandra offered.
“That’s okay,” Serena responded. “I’ve been working on ‘Serenity’, so I should be all set.”
“Well I wish you the best of luck,” Cassandra nodded. “Don’t forget, you’ve got your interview with Adrianna Rviz!”
“Oh shoot,” Serena yelped. “I almost forgot! Thanks!”
Serena quickly grabbed her things and ran up the ramp and to the back where the backstage interview area was set up. She was able to catch Adrianna following a segment with another Legacy superstar as she settled into her chair.
“Thanks for joining me on such short notice,” Adrianna announced.
“Thank you for having me,” Serena smiled.
“Let’s get right into it,” Adrianna began. “Things have been rather tense between you and Amber Payne for quite some time now. In your mind, what is it that started this rivalry?”
“Well,” Serena paused for dramatic effect. “My debut match in Revo obviously didn’t go the way that I had hoped. Overall, I was still proud of my performance but it was still a disappointment to lose to Amber the way that I did. She’s definitely a skilled mat-technician and our match at Christmas Chaos seems to favor her more than me but I’ve learned a lot since October and I’ve come so far. I’m ready to show Amber, and the world, what I’m capable of.”
“Is that why you interfered in her match against Jessie Lee a few weeks ago?” Adrianna asked.
“Honestly, I had no intent on getting involved,” Serena answered. “Instinctively, I think I just reacted the way that I did. I had seen enough of Amber and her sister cheating to know what was about to go down and, technically, I didn’t get involved in that match until after it was already over, so I’m in no way trying to take credit for Jessie Lee’s victory. The Rising Star Champion is one of the toughest and most popular female superstars on the roster and I can only hope that I can be as good as her one day. But everyone needs a little help now and again, right? So I’d like to think I did what any good person would do and that is even the odds.”
“What message, if any, would you like to send to Amber if she was watching right now?” Adrianna inquired.
Serena took a moment to ponder her response before turning her attention to the camera.
“Amber,” Serena began. “I’m sure what I did to you on the last show feels disrespectful but, from where I’m sitting, you need to earn the right to be respected in the first place. I know that I’m still new to this business and that I have a lot to learn but one thing that I believe you need to learn is a little southern hospitality. Though I haven’t been wrestling for very long, I’ve had one of the best in the business in Cassandra Starr take me under her wing and get me to this opportunity that is before me, wrestling at the biggest show of the year in front of the hottest crowd. Christmas Chaos is like our version of the Super Bowl and I don’t plan on letting this chance to make an everlasting impression slip through my fingers. Competition is competition, and I’ve been doing that for many years. Whether it be dance or cheerleading or, now, wrestling… I know what it’s like to rise to the occasion. I’m going to keep that momentum I started when I picked up my first victory and I’m going to beat you at your own game. I don’t care what you, or your sister, try and pull at Christmas Chaos; this time, I’ll be ready. And when I lock you in the ‘Serenity’, this time… it’ll be your turn to tap out.”
Serena smiled sweetly and blew a kiss to the camera before thanking the fans and Adrianna for her time.
