In a case of history repeating itself, Chelsea lost the tag team match to the Psykotics after Toni Beasley tried to take the glory for herself and got pinned and with their clash Christmas Chaos (alongside Arden Tyler) drawing closer by the day Chelsea was eager to back into the winner’s circle and would get that opportunity at the upcoming Cyber Slam event despite the fact that she technically wasn’t booked, how?
Simple, the bosses had booked an open invitational gauntlet match pitting Sara Pettis against the world, otherwise known as everyone who hadn’t been booked for Cyber Slam and yes, that included Chelsea! And with Toni taking on Jessie Lee in a Special Guest Referee Match on the same show, you know the metal chick and former Olympic level gymnast turned wrestler was looking to send a clear message through this match! Can Chelsea win?

Yeah, this has not been an easy week for me.
Why? The second year anniversary of that car crash was this past Saturday, for context I’m talking about the car crash that killed my twin brother Justin and ended my dreams of competing for the US in the Olympic Gymnastics Team, both because of his death and because I was in that car crash and whilst I (obviously) survived, I came out the other end with a leg that was broken in four places and a fresh new diagnosis of depression.
Did I mention that I was already suffering from anxiety BEFORE that crash? Yeah, my mental health is a mess at the best of times!
Still, I power on, either through my wrestling or my exploits as a Death Metal musician with her own band, has it been easy? No, but I can’t let my mental health get the better of me again, because the last time I let that happen my sisters had to talk me down from a suicide attempt.
Still, I was hoping to unwind with some studio time with my band, so I entered our recording space for our weekly jam session and why the fuck am I hearing a Phill Collins song?!
”Hey guys.” I greeted the rest of the band as I entered the booth with Sarah right behind me, there was a fourth woman in the room, a heavily tattooed brunette woman but we just assumed that she was another musician. ”What’s with the soppy shit? You guys aren’t forming a Phil Collins cover band, are you?” I asked jokingly, and Taylor grinned as I started to get set up whilst Julian, Trent and the unnamed woman turned to face me.
“Hey Chelsea, I guess we’d better get this out of the way.” Trent commented and I gave them a confused look. “We just saw that tweet you put out about your brother, sorry for your loss.” Trent added and I sighed as I got the idea.
“I’ve had only two years to get over Justin’s death, doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.” I responded as I got my beginner guitar out at which point I recognized the Phill Collins song as one of the ones from the soundtrack for Disney’s Tarzan and groaned. ”Did you have to listen to “You’ll Be In My Heart”? Ugh, I hate that song!”
“We thought it was apt, considering everything you’ve been through.” Julian defended their choice, and I just shook my head. “What’s wrong with it anyway? I thought you considered Disney Songs to be a guilty pleasure?”
”As a song? There’s nothing wrong with it, aside from the fact that it’s from the weakest Disney Renaissance movie, yes even compared to Pocahontas because at least that had a fun villain! The only thing Tarzan has going for it is that brutal villain death at the end!” I responded as I shook my head before taking a deep breath. ”But that song was Justin’s favourite, and it was played at his funeral which I was barred from attending by my parents because they blamed me for his death just because I was in that same car crash!” I grunted in annoyance and my other bandmates winced. ”Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the sentiment, but I’ve never been able to look at that song the same way since then, not even as a cover!”
“Well, now that you’ve explained it, that makes a bit of sense.” Trent responded with a nod as Julian exited out of the YouTube page. “But again, you have our condolences.”
”And I’m not saying that I don’t appreciate it, just a bad song choice, that’s all.” T responded with a shrug before turning to the new woman in the room. ”So, is she going to be joining us or something?”
“You could say that.” The woman responded as she got up to greet me and if there was one thing I noticed right off the bat, it was her Polish accent. “My name is Nadia, Sarah talked to me on the phone.”
”Oh yeah, I meant to tell you about this sooner.” Sarah remembered as she stepped out in front of me. ”Nadia’s going to be our band manager going forward, she has worked with a majority of the local bands in the area.”
“And before you ask, that accounts for the greater Illinois area and not just Chicago.” Nadia elaborated before we shared a handshake. “Off course, my decision to become the band’s manager was helped by the fact that I’m a fan of you in your wrestling career as well Chelsea.”
”Off course, Julian, Trent and Taylor are already wrestling fans, why not the band’s first manager as well.” I joked before I started getting my stuff ready. ”Just curious but were you born stateside or……”
“Technically it was a bit of both, my mother was about three months pregnant when she moved to the US from Poland.” Nadia explained once she realized what I was asking, and I nodded as I got the idea. “Now then, I’m eager to hear you guys shred!”
”We’ll try not to disappoint.” I responded with a wink before we started practice.

This will be interesting.
”Here’s a question for you guys, what do you do when the promotion you work for doesn’t book you for their next show but hosts an open invitational gauntlet match on their next show? Well, if you answered “sign yourself up for that gauntlet match” then you’re right on the money! At Cyber Slam I’m entering myself into the Sara Pettis vs. The World Gauntlet where if Sara wins, well that’s really up to the fans but I guess it’s my job to stop her from winning, isn’t it?”
Off course it is!
”Okay, to be honest, the moment I saw the name for this event and realized that I’d likely never get another chance to make this joke again means that I have to get this out of my system, her Sara, let’s Cyber! Now that that’s out of the way, part of me does want you to win and put Khaos through the worse stuff the fans can dream off because that guy has beaten me three times and I’m still salty about it! But on the other hand,……..”
Conflict of interest alert!
”I’m going to level with you here Sara, I didn’t just sign myself up for this match for the paycheque, I signed myself up for the match so I can get some momentum heading into my International Title Match against Toni Beasley and Arden Taylor since, you know, that’s my first ever title match and I feel I need every advantage that I can get my hands on heading into that match! Nothing personal, just business.”
It's that simple.
”It’s just that we happen to work in a very dirty business, don’t we?? Sara I know how tough you are, but can you keep up with me in the ring? Can you match me hold for hold? Only one way to find out and that’s when we face off in the gauntlet.”
And with that I decided to wrap things up.
”If I’m hoping for anything, it’s the fact that I’m the one who faces you last, not because you’ll be tired but because I want to be the one to get the win and stop you in your tracks because you should know by now that for the “Nightmare Angel” Chelsea Skye, the Skye’s the Limit once that bell rings!”
I went to start practice as the scene fades.
