The scene opens somewhere deep in the jungle. We find jungle-explorer, adventurer extraordinaire Sierra Silver, dressed in her khaki shirt and shorts, pith helmet, and hiking boots. A backpack twice her size is slung over her shoulder and a map in her hands, she pushes through the foliage, desperately searching for something. Soon she looks up and sighs in frustration.
Looking down at her map, Sierra isn’t looking where she’s going. Soon she’s startled by running into a tree branch. Her head shoots up in surprise, only to relax and giggle to herself for getting so startled.
Sierra takes a look around at her surroundings, allowing her eyes to fall to her shoulder, causing her to become white as a ghost when she sees the giant snake slithering on her shoulder.
Eep!
She tries to remain calm but her shaking becomes more and more visible until she breaks, letting out a scream as she tosses the serpent away and taking off running deeper into the jungle.
She makes it a hundred yards before feeling safe enough to slow down. She puts her hands on her knees for a moment to catch her breath before standing up straight and dusting herself off before pulling her map back out and taking another look. Looking closer, a confused look crosses her face.
Let’s see… if that’s that right there… And that is that tree… Huh. That’s weird… According to this, I should be standing right on top of it…
Frustrated, Sierra looks up at her surroundings again, wiping sweat from her forehead. But as she gazes at the trees around her, she notices them getting taller and taller. After a few moments, her eyes widen with the realization.
GASP! Quicksand!
Sierra looks down, finally noticing her knees disappearing into the ground below her. She looks up and quickly scans the area around her for a means of escape as she quickly tosses off her heavy bag in an attempt to slow her sinking but can’t find anything to pull herself out with. She groans as she looks back down, watching as the ground climbs up her waist.
I hate to say it… But I could really use that snake right about now to get myself out of this…
The quicksand quickly climbs up Sierra’s stomach. She puts her hands down on the surface in an attempt to push herself up but only manages to do the opposite, pushing her hands in and trapping her arms at her sides. She quickly tries to pull them back up to no avail. She begins to panic as she looks around again, on the off chance there was someone to help her.
Um… Help?? Is there anyone there? I need help!
Sierra looks down again, watching herself sink down to her shoulders. She sighs, a look of resignation on her face.
Aw heck… This is a bummer…
Sierra tilts her head back and looks up at the sky. She sighs in defeat as her head is quickly dragged under, blacking out the world above her.
Silence. Blackness. Sierra waits for something to happen…
And after a few agonizingly long seconds, it does. Suddenly she finds herself falling before reaching a soft landing. She sucks in a breath of fresh air. She sits up and looks around. It’s dark, with a few rays of light from the world above ground.
Sierra takes in her surroundings, a large room. On the opposite end of the room from her, with the sun shining on a gold artifact on a pedestal.
Woah… I guess I really was right on top of it… Literally!
Sierra hops off the conveniently placed crashpad and dusts the sand grains off of her as she begins a confidant stride towards her goal…
But is quickly stopped in her tracks when the ground underneath her crumbles! Sierra manages to shift her weight to her back foot and fall to safety.
Dang! It really isn’t easy to get that gold! Though I suppose if it was easy, everyone would be taking it! Takes a real smart and real brave soul to get it! Like Sierra!
Sierra carefully tests the ground in front of her until she finds a stone to hold her weight. She repeats this process, slowly and carefully testing each and every stone until she finds the correct path to the gold. Finally, after seemingly an eternity, she reaches the final platform, coming face to face with the gold. Sierra’s eyes glimmer as she gazes at her shiny trophy.
Sierra goes to reach for her prize but catches herself.
No way it’s that easy… There’s gotta be, like, a cave-in. Or… a boulder chasing me as soon as I take this. Or a whole buncha bad guys running after me trying to take my shiny from me!
Sierra taps her chin with her finger as she thinks about how to approach this situation. She quickly searches the floor around her. She bends over and picks up a bag of sand, the exact size of the gold in front of her that was inexplicably sitting on the ground. She steels her nerves as she prepares to replace the idol with the bag…
...Only to decide against it. She drops the bag and goes back to the drawing board.
Too cliche, even for me…
After a few more moments of deliberation, Sierra sighs, and shrugs, hesitantly reaching out and quickly swiping the gold off its pedestal!...
…
…
And nothing.
Sierra stands still, waiting for something to happen. A loud crash, something on the pedestal triggering, anything at all… But there’s nothing.
Well… That’s really anticlimatic!
Suddenly the ground begins to shake. Sierra looks around and notices the walls beginning to crack. She breaks out into a sweat as she feels herself beginning to sweat. Soon the cracks in the wall begin to leak with smoke as well as bright orange and red semi-liquid. Once again, Sierra’s eyes widen.
Holy shrimp! Lava?! Are you heckin kidding me??
The cracks in the wall grow bigger as the lava pours out and begins flowing out onto the floor. Sierra watches in horror as her path to freedom is slowly swallowed up by magma.
Welp! Now or never!
She tucks the idol under her arm like a football and begins her quick and careful hop across the crumbling floor puzzle back to the mainland.
Sierra looks around at the trouble around her, the lava slowly creeping ever closer around her. Sweat drips from her forehead as the heat begins to get to her. She scans the area around her, her eyes widening when she spots a ledge within reach. It’s a long and high jump.
Well, better get on it!
Sierra tosses the idol up onto the ledge. Then she takes a running start and leaps up, sailing over the bubbling lava. For a moment it seems she’s not going to make it, but Sierra is barely able to grasp onto the ledge with one hand! Once she gains her composure, she breathes heavily as she hoists herself up onto the platform. She flops onto her back and huffs and puffs. The air is harder to breathe due to the temperature increasing… The heat is unbearable, from her head to her feet…
Mostly her feet…
Specifically just one foot.
Oh schnikes!
Sierra’s head shoots up, now noticing her right boot got too close to the lava and caught on fire! She quickly removes her shirt, revealing a white tank top underneath, and uses it to smother the fire on her foot.
Dang… No one ever said this was easy, that’s for sure!
With a soft chuckle, Sierra stands up again. She looks up at her goal, rays from the setting sun shining through an opening just big enough for Sierra to squeeze her small frame through. She grabs her charred shirt and ties one sleeve tightly around the idol and the other around her ankle.
Wiping her hands off onto her shorts, Sierra grasps onto the wall, slowly and carefully locating all the handholds to climb her way up the wall. Nothing tears her focus away, not even the dull clanking of the metal trophy against the stone wall.
After seemingly an eternity of climbing, Sierra reaches the opening. With the very last of her strength and energy, she pulls herself out into the open air of the jungle once again. She lays on her back as she stares up at the sky, a smile on her face.
The last time I saw the sky, I thought I was done for… But now it’s like a new beginning! How poetic…
Sierra sits up and pulls her prize close, hugging it tightly.
All that work. All worth it! Now I’m on top!
Sierra holds the idol up high into the air.
I’m the queen of the world!!!
She carefully walks over to the quicksand pit that houses the hidden room to retrieve her pack before beginning her long trek home...
The end!
Sierra looks at her best friend, Thomas Snow, with a beaming smile on her face, waiting for his response. Thomas, meanwhile, wears a look of pure confusion on his face.
Si… That was an… interesting story. But I don’t really get how that ties into your match? Or anything, really. What was the point of that?
Sierra blows a raspberry as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
The symbolism, Tommy! Me searching for my prize, being met with a bunch of obstacles and pitfalls, only to come out on the other side and find what I’m looking for and succeed?? It symbolizes my attempts at reaching the top of wrestling, only to be met with people who think I can’t do it, those who try to keep me down, all my failures and missteps. But I eventually reach the top anywhale?? It’s cool! It’s topical! It works!
Does it?
It does! ...I think?
You think?
I do!
Well… It is an interesting approach, I’ll give you that.
Thankies!
I guess all I can do is wish you luck, Si. No one deserves the main event more than you.
Thanks, T! I’ll be sure to make you proud! But for now, I gots to go! My people need me!
Sierra gives Thomas a big, tight hug. The two stay like that for a few moments before Sierra breaks away, her smile ever-present.
And now! Sierra! Awaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy! WHOOSH!
Sierra holds her hands out in front of her as if she is flying and runs out of the room, leaving Snow to chuckle and smile at his friend’s antics.
!!!EPIC TRANSITION!!!
The scene switches to a top-down view of a hopscotch path drawn on the patio of Sierra’s house. We see Sierra, dressed in her adventuring outfit, carefully hopping from one square to the other. She jumps to a square marked with an X and begins to wobble and stumble.
Oh no! Wrong tile! Gotta jump to safety before it crumbles!! Boom! Crash! Ahhhhhhh!
Sierra takes a dramatic leap back to the square she was standing on before. She stares at the one in awe.
That was close! I almost fell to my doom! Then my adventure would have come to a tragic end!
She looks over to Robert B. Goode, who is sat at a table under an umbrella close by.
Did ya see that, Bobby??
Goode nods subtly.
Yes, I did. Very impressive.
He turns his head to face the camera, Sierra still hopping around behind him.
While she does that, allow me to talk to you for a moment. This is a big week for Sierra as well as Revolution1 as a whole. The big one-year anniversary show featuring the best talent from both Sin and Legacy. Culminating in a big match pitting many champions against their challengers…
At least, that’s how it was supposed to be. But Sierra had different ideas. She decided to give up her Futures championship. A smart move, once you realize her ultimate scheme. But until then, she seems to be the odd one out. A team featuring the World, International, and Horrorcore champions and Sierra…
Mark my words, sometime soon… very soon… Sierra will be the most powerful of all of them. You can’t make peanut butter without smashing a few nuts, after all…
As for Sierra’s opponents, what is there to say? Of the four of you, Mr. Min-Jun is the only one Sierra should be worried about at all. For he was the only one of you four to defeat Sierra in the Glory tournament. For the rest of you? You failed. Sora Weaver, Aphrodite Nine, you had the numbers advantage in the tournament. In theory, your numbers advantage should’ve guaranteed a finals full of Unstable members. But that didn’t happen.
Nine, you were defeated by your own partner in Jin. Sora, you were defeated by Sierra. You failed in your ultimate goal. You are failures. So caught up in your nonexistent numbers advantage, you completely overlooked Sierra and it cost you dearly. Mr. Min-Jun is the only one of you to have defeated Sierra and that was only because she had gone through two matches previously against much tougher opponents. Opponents including the new Horrorcore champion, Maggie Lockheart, who just so happened to defeat Ms. Jessie Lee for the said championship.
Ms. Lee… Not the most spectacular last few weeks for you, huh? The only champion in the Glory tournament and you get knocked out in the first round of the pay-per-view and then, two weeks later, you lose your Horrorcore championship. This woman whom we’re all supposed to believe is a dangerous, destructive force in all reality has done absolutely nothing in the last month or so. The only thing of note featuring you all involves you laying flat on your back, looking up at the lights as someone much better than you pins your shoulders down. Whether it be your partner in this match or your opponent, they’ve beaten you.
You’ve had your moments in the spotlight, Jessie, there’s no denying that. But that’s all in the past. You’re old news, damaged goods. This business is very much based on what you’ve done for me lately. And lately, Jessie, you just haven’t been cutting it. And so, when you’re matched up against a collection of the most powerful people in Revolution1, including the woman who beat you for your championship, what makes you think you have what it takes to come out on the other side with your hands held high? How do you expect to defeat the competition when you can’t even coexist with one another?
Don’t think it isn’t obvious. The lot of you, with egos bigger and more explosive than the sun, something is bound to break. Something is bound to go wrong. Unstable, you can put up the illusion of a united front all you wish. But the cracks are showing, it’s as obvious as Sierra’s love for cats.
Oh no! The dangerous, ferocious, adorable guard kitty! Coming to stop me with her licks and cuddles of doom!!!
See? Very obvious.
And finally, the man of the hour. Jin Min-Jun. The one person who has managed to defeat Sierra since she returned to Revolution1. You have to be the luckiest man this company has ever seen. If the roles were reversed, if Sierra had to go through your round of opponents, she would have easily won too. Jessie Lee and Sora Weaver, proven themselves to be less than stellar competition.
Truth be told, Mr. Min-Jun, I feel bad for you. I consider you one of the premier talents here in Revolution1. Especially amongst your so-called partners. You’re a man amongst children, Jin. And that’s your problem. Surrounding yourself with lesser talent. Maybe it’s a way of making yourself feel more important by being the strongest member of your team. But you know the saying, a team is only as strong as its weakest link. So you can be the greatest star of all time, but if you keep trying to lift those around you up, you’re only going to be dragged down. So your attempt at protecting yourself is actually working against you by dimming your star.
I implore you to reconsider your decisions, Mr. Min-Jun. I implore you to better yourself. Drop the dead weight around you or else run the risk of falling into mediocrity and obscurity. Drop them before they drop you. Free yourself from the shackles or else stay trapped inside your tomb for eternity.
Or don’t. I assume you won’t listen to me and stubbornly push forward despite all the warning signs. That’s fine. Just be aware… I told you so. So when you’re on the outside looking in, at the woman whom you once beat, pushing in front of you in line to take your spot, don’t come crying to me. Because I will have no pity.
As for the rest of you, try to keep your heads up high in the face of defeat. It’s all you can do…
Sierra suddenly pops up behind Goode, holding her cat, Happy, up for everyone to see.
And be nice to each other! Love you bye!!!
Goode matches Sierra’s loving smile with a sinister smirk of his own. Before long, the scene totally fades to black...
Looking down at her map, Sierra isn’t looking where she’s going. Soon she’s startled by running into a tree branch. Her head shoots up in surprise, only to relax and giggle to herself for getting so startled.
